Ryan: I think there is a little bit of fear on [Lights and Sounds] -- fear of the future, fear of change -- and I think all that came out in New York because I was trying to be as confident and positive and forward thinking as I could, to actually let go and ask, 'What if it all goes wrong?'
Ryan: In [Ocean Avenue], it sounds like I'm singing to some girl somewhere, but in actuality what I try to do is sort of make the person I am singing to a metaphor for our hometown. I kind of turn the place we're from into a person to sing to.
