Renee's brother is the songwriter Bobby Sandstrom. He is the one who helped the girls in the very beginning, especially writing and recording demos for the companies.
Micki Duran, the 2nd fourth member of Wild Orchid, has left in 1994, to star in the TV show Roundhouse. The band did not look for another fourth member again.
Before signing in a record company, the girls were singing in nightclubs, charity events and local radio stations.
The group's original name was New Rhythm Generation - NRG (Energy). In 1992, they had to change their name to Wild Orchid, since the leaving manager claimed rights for the name.
All the 3 girls were hosting the TV show Great Pretenders (in 1999), where teenagers were singing a lip-sync of their favorite song.
Wild Orchid had toured with 98 Degrees and N*SYNC in 1997.
