And I used it to help me get my foot in the door in Hollywood because the handstand was my gimmick that no one else had.
Are Christians too stupid that we can't write a script, we can't film a movie OR we don't know how to act?
At this point in my career, maybe God's taken away all my jobs because, right now I've nothing to lose, you know.
Because I hate fake people and I always think I'm never fake.
But if you believe in Christ and that your main goal with your life is supposed to be to honor Him and do His will, then you don't have as much pressure as someone who bases all their happiness on whether they're a movie star.
But the point is, yes, Hollywood is run by people most of whom aren't Christians.
Especially actors are really guilty of that a lot; of using anything they can to be looked at for their career.
I always dreamed of being Maria in The Sound of Music.
I always wanted to be on a sitcom.
I always wanted to be on a sitcom. Because it's a good job to have kids. You can see them in the morning, see them at night.
I could teach gymnastics if I didn't have any other profession.
I cried when I heard Johnny Carson died.
I didn't really leave show business. It sort of turned out that way because you can't have a career and live in Miami.
I do think that the heads of most of the projects out here are pretty totally liberal, pretty much anti-Christianity.
I don't think Christians can complain because my feeling is: Make your own movies.
I got a gymnastics scholarship to college, fell in love with my true love of my whole life - who I'm married to now - and he was a virgin too. It was very romantic.
I have a very addictive personality and I'm very childlike, always wanting attention.
I just wrote my first idea for a sitcom and registered it with the Writers Guild. And I wrote church stuff in there.
I kind of agreed with that as long as it's not something like Demi Moore being naked in a stripper movie, you know, like I would never do that.
I mean look at Madonna, there's a poster of her all over the world when she has a new album and I don't think they're any good. But there's a lot of PR.
I remember going to church about four times a week. I liked it a lot.
I stayed a virgin until I was 23. I didn't do drugs or drink or smoke.
I think abortion is murder.
I think the Bible is God's gift of salvation that He gave me because I trusted in Him when I was six years old. It was a gift and I didn't earn it.
I think the reason they cast me as the good girls is because they couldn't find any in Hollywood.
I think they're afraid to confront the truth so they find all these stupid false religions, false gives them a good feeling or something.
I thought it was a really good contrast to have a really sweet, sincere, church girl sitting next to the church lady who seemed kind of, you know, over the top.
I was the only Christian on the cast, but that was cool because we all respected each others talent and mostly they respected me a lot even though I was the only Christian.
I wasn't really qualified to be on Saturday Night Live - I'm not like an impressionist or anything.
I've had a lot of struggles and I would be in a lot of trouble, I think, if I wasn't a Christian.
I've never been in the music industry, only acting.
It doesn't make your life stop being fun to be a Christian.
It was the best job I ever had. I just left because my whole team was leaving and the new guys were coming.
It's very scary and the whole business is insecure and you get rejected a lot.
Like when I first came out here, everyone was into crystals and now it's Kaballah, with New Age was in between.
Maybe entertainment is not supposed to be reality.
Maybe I'll learn how, but the only thing I can do is turn down parts that would hurt my conscience.
Maybe if I could ever be a successful comedian then I could be an example that Christians can also have fun.
Movies are nice, but there are very few roles for women and most of them are sluts or something.
Now, I don't mind making fun of those preachers who steal money from people, they kind of deserve it.
Religion is man's attempt to bind himself back to a relationship with God.
Sitcoms are relatively clean. There's not much nudity.
So finally I came up with a thing that felt really pure, and I'm Christian, so when I hear about death I have a lot of hope because I believe in Jesus and life after death, and John 3:16.
So I know how the acting thing works, I don't know how the record industry works.
Sometimes I like to vent.
That was, my whole dilemma was that when I got my first movie part The Pick Up Artist, I was playing a loose girl.
That's pretty much why I went into show business because I wanted to have a guitar and sing unaccompanied, that was like my fantasy of the perfect life.
The bottom line of Hollywood is money.
There was a lot of Southern Baptist preachers and some yelling ones but mostly we had a pastor who didn't scream and I found a lot of comfort and joy and peace as a child hearing the Bible.
There's a lot of money in Billy Graham's Association and in that Denver, Colorado thing, Focus on the Family. So, why can't we make Christian movies?
They don't care what you believe in IF you can make the money. There's no prejudice against any certain religion here.
They're desperately searching for meaning in their lives but they will not crack the Bible open.
When you go on an audition it's very frightening.

Victoria tried for quite awhile to be a guest on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect, because no one was representing Jesus' side. She wanted a platform to present her views on abortion, and call it what it is to her, murder. She appeared, and was a target for religious bashers, but was asked back as one of four women who were favorites of Bill Maher's on his birthday celebration show.
Victoria's dream is to play Maria in The Sound of Music, citing it as the main reason that she went to Hollywood.
Victoria was the only Christian on the cast of Saturday Night Live, but was only ever offended enough to pull out of one sketch. The sketch was about a pair of over-zealous religious fanatics, and the scene called for her to drop to her knees and pray. After careful consideration, she told Lorne Michaels to replace her in the sketch, that it would hurt her too deeply to mock prayer. He did replace her, and the sketch ended up on the cutting room floor, having received no laughs anyway.
Victoria doesn't believe in Kaballah, Scientology, Catholicism, Mormonism, Buddism, etc. She is a true believer in Jesus Christ, however. Having done thorough research in all of the religions, she read her Bible from cover to cover. Her conclusion was that her faith in God defies a religion, and is a personal relationship between them alone.
Victoria caught the eye of Johnny Carson, and he booked her act (her doing a handstand while reciting poetry) on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. This was her break into national television exposure, she ended up making 22 appearances on his show.
Victoria went to Birmingham, Alabama to summer stock, and met up with Johnny Crawford, a star from The Rifleman. He took a liking to her, and invited her to Hollywood to perform in his nightclub acts with him. She accepted and he sent her a one way ticket to California.
Victoria's father was a strict gym coach, and ordered that she perform and perfect her gymnastic routines daily. She performed competetively from the age of 5 until she turned 18.
In high school, Victoria was anorexic. She blames the pressure of being a competitive gymnast and her father's obsession with weight.
