The song "Bittersweet Symphony" appears in the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions.
Ashcroft has released three solo albums since The Verve's breakup, including Alone With Everybody (2000), Human Conditions (2002), and Keys To The World (2006).
The song "Cast No Shadow," written by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, was dedicated to singer Richard Ashcroft. Ashcroft later returned the gesture by writing the song "Northern Soul" (off the album of the same name) for Gallagher.
