Spikes: We take it as a compliment. ... But do we stop? Nah. If anything, you're just adding more gas to the fire.
Spikes: You have to be more disciplined in what you do. You have to make the plays when you're supposed to make them. When the play is presented to you, you have to make it. We have to have guys flying around the ball. It will definitely be a good game to watch this weekend.
Spikes: Their offensive line did a great job of just staying with it.
Spikes: I promise you, ... When I come back, I'm going to be like a mad dog in a meat house.
Spikes: We want to become great ... We want to become one of those units that smothers offenses. We want to be so good people fear us.
Spikes: The way this past season ended, we felt there was a lot of unfinished business we needed to take care of and it started with this first game. We were very eager to just go out and show everybody that there was not going to be a drop-off and to prove to ourselves that in order to get to where we want to go this is the first step that needed to be taken.
Spikes: I like our chances better than anybody in the league knowing that you're coming out at home again playing with the 12th man in the stadium. Special teams, defensively, offensively, we feel like we have a lot of things to prove.
Spikes: We felt like we had an opportunity at the end of last season to do something great but we didn't. Now it's over with and we've been focusing on this game ever since we first came in at the beginning of OTAs.
Spikes: Like I told, J.P., the ingredients are all here, ... The defense is ready to roll. The rest of the team is welcome to hop aboard and enjoy the ride.
Spikes: My goal is to win it all, ... I haven't even tasted the playoffs, and I'm very hungry.
Spikes: I'm so very happy to be here, ... My lifelong dream is to win, and I was accustomed to winning before I got to Cincinnati. From Bantam League, to middle school, high school and at Auburn, I was always on winning teams. I just want to win again.
Spikes: I know a lot of people expect a lot of great things out of me. But I expect a lot of great things out of myself. ... It's time to be a household name for the 50 percent of people who didn't know me before.
Spikes: It was like a dream coming true, like I was coming into the league all over again, ... It was almost like hearing the commissioner call your name again on that stage. That's the way I felt. Just to see it, man, I don't know. It was almost like, and I know I shouldn't say this because it sounds so harsh, but it was like I was a slave getting his slave papers.
Spikes: It was bittersweet, to tell you the truth, ... I just felt bad. I don't know why. It's almost like I was embarrassed to a certain degree.
Spikes: We feel we are the focal point, the strong point of the Buffalo Bills, ... So, we take it upon ourselves. We have very high expectations. We want to dominate and get the job done, no matter how many minutes we have to spend on the field, no matter where the ball is when we go out there.
Spikes: Just to be mentioned in the same sentence with those guys feels good, but I want to take it to another level. I respect those guys because they did it. I'm trying to get where they're at, where people talk about me bringing a championship here.
Spikes: I think everybody has expressed what they expect out of him. I told him, 'Don't feel like you have to do more than you have to. Know that we've got your back no matter what happens, point blank.
Spikes: I think he made some good throws. For where we're at, he should be fine. We're not worried about anything. As long as we do what we can do defensively, we can keep him in the rocking chair and just let him continue to get better.
