Greg Camp: There's a song called Waste that's an acoustic ballad... then it kinda breaks into this little hip-hop thing. It's our favorite song on the record. It's just awesome. People freak out on it. It's, like, a surfy ballad...it's kinda hard to explain. It's really cool, though. It's pretty deep, too. It's like, I've had people, like, in tears, pretty much go, 'Dude, what the heck is that?'.
Smash Mouth's Walkin' On The Sun was originally a rap song Greg wrote years ago. Kevin found it an old shoebox full of tapes and showed it to the band and they reworked it.
Walkin' on the Sun was Smash Mouth's first major single, released 1997.
