Rik played Peeves the Poltergeist in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but was cut out during editing.
Rik was in a coma for several days after a quad bike accident. His first words on regaining consciousness was to the doctor, "So you're the bastard that keeps sticking needles onto me!".
He had a number one hit in the 1986 UK singles chart when he and his co-stars from "The Young Ones" teamed up with Cliff Richard to release a new version of Living Doll. The song was in aid of the Comic Relief charity, which raises money for the poor in Africa and the UK.
Played the role of a private detective in the "Peter Gunn's Theme" music video by The Art Of Noise, in which he dances and chases a woman around.
Met Adrian Edmondson (his "The Young Ones" and "Bottom" co-star) whilst studying drama at the University of Manchester.
He was involved in a quad-bike accident in 1998, which left him with serious head injuries. He has made since a full recovery.
The Young Ones has had 2 series' RIk Mayall starred in them. Both DVDs are out in the UK
