Fox Mulder and Dana Scully travel to the town of Red Falls, in the Rocky Mountains. They are there to investigate murders that are connected to the paranormal. They track the killer to Siberia and subsequently an alien spacecraft buried beneath the surface of the Earth, where they must stop the "black oil" alien virus from taking control of the planet.
