Meredith's first day as co-anchor sitting next to Matt Lauer is September 15th 2006.
Meredith has been married to journalist and Columbia University Journalism Professor Richard Cohen since July 14 1986. They have 3 children: Benjamin Edwin Cohen (1989), Gabriel Anthony Cohen (1991),and Lily Max Cohen (1993). They currently reside in Westchester County. Cohen has had multiple sclerosis since he was 25 years old. MS runs in the Cohen family, as Cohen's father Dr. Ben Cohen and grandmother had MS. Recently Cohen had two colon-cancer surgeries.
Meredith is the spokesperson on Bayer commercials.

Appeared on the Lion King 1 1/2 DVD in a special game: Who Wants to be the King of the Jungle? a spoof of the show she hosts Who wants to be a Millionaire?. Timon the Meerkat was the contestant; Pumbaa was in the audience and was one of the animals you could select in the "Phone an Animal" lifeline an obvious spoof on the "phone a friend" lifeline from the real Millionaire.
Announced on-air during The View show in May 2002 that she's decided to accept ABC's offer to host the syndicated version of Who Wants To Be A Millionare weekly series, beginning in the fall, while she continues to co-host View for the next five years. Reportedly, her salary may jump from $500,000 a year to $5 million.
