I just thought that I had had my fill for a while and wanted to have a family. My husband was moving to Chicago for his job. And so I went along. And it was a great thing that I did.

She was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award on Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1989 in the category of Outstanding Heroine: Daytime for her role in a tv soap opera All My Children.
She won a Bronze Wrangler Award on Western Heritage Awards in 2003 for her role in a movie King of Texas.
She named her adopted son (Alexander Joseph Greco) in honor of her 14-year-old brother Alexander who was killed in a fire in 1992.
Lauren and her husband adopted a baby boy named Alexander in June, 2001.
Her mother, Michael Ann taught art history at the University of Rochester and chaired the department.
Graduated from Geneva High School in Geneva, New York with the class of 1981 where she was a cheerleader.
Attended Sarah Lawrence College (graduated 1985 with a degree in English Literature).
Her second husband was a famous comedian Jim Carrey. They married on September 23, 1996 and divorced on July 29, 1997; 11 months after the wedding.
Lauren used to date comedian/movie star Jim Carrey.
