While filming the 2007 film Because I Said So, there was a scene that required Lauren and her co-stars Diane Keaton, Piper Perabo, and Mandy Moore to walk around in their underwear. This proved to be awkward scene for many people, but especially Lauren, who has been quoted saying "We're all in our underwear, and it's just not right." You can sense Lauren's discomfort when you watch the scene; she is shown in her underwear for literally one second, and then she quickly puts on a robe, while her three co-stars linger a while before covering themselves up.

Starting with the Season 7 episode To Whom It May Concern and continuing through out the rest of the season, Lauren was made a producer on Gilmore Girls, in what was supposed to be an attempt to persuade her to sign for an eighth season.
