Acted in the movie The New Guy (2002) as Jose, the drag queen prisoner.

Jai is half Puerto Rican (on his father's side) and half Italian (on his mother's side). He was raised by his mother and his maternal grandparents.

Jai has three dogs, teacup Yorkies named Nemo, Dory and Gidget, a frog, parrots, and various fish and mice. Nemo and Dory his parrot and one of his mice have appeared on Queer Eye, and Gidget appeared on Kathy Griffin: MY Life on the D List.

Jai is the "little brother" of the Fab Five, being the youngest of them by almost ten years.

Before appearing on Queer Eye, Jai starred in an Off-Broadway show called Zanna, Don't!
