Ian: (on being sexy) I don’t realise I’m sexy but it’s very kind of you to say that. And if you’d like to say it a bit louder to my wife, I’d be very grateful.
Ian: (asked if the contestants on Celebrity Survivor were given toilet paper) The only occasion they were allowed the luxury of a lo was when they were at tribal council. Other than that, it was just banana leaves.
Ian: (repeating Jeff Probst’s catchphrases on Celebrity Survivor) I got really nervous about taking on Jeff’s role, because the guy’s a giant. He’s created these big hero lines like ‘The tribe has spoken’, ‘On my go’ and ‘I’ll go tally the votes’, so when I said those things, I cringed. I just fel like a really bad actor. I did try to create my own environment, and I think that comes through eventually with my inability to take the over-sincere rubbish of these contestants. I like having more of a laugh than Jeff does.
Dicko: I wouldn't mind having a pop at (Maria) Sharapova. I think she'd be a right grunter in the sack. And I'm a dud root, so I need all the help I can get.
Dicko: My fortunes changed when I moved to Australia. I had a great life back in the UK, earned a great living, had a great family and a great home life. I moved to Australia and everything got turned up to 11. About the hair, it looks 100 times better now. I saw Doug Mulray on StarStruck last night and I remember when I was playing football people used to say, "Mulray! Pass the ball, Mulray!" Just to sledge me, they used to call me Doug Mulray. Doug's a great bloke. If I had half of his wit, I'd be very happy.
Dicko: (on reality television) There's probably a small minority of hopeless show-offs who must have the oxygen of exposure. I've been involved in two reality-TV shows and I've seen certain contestants turn up for two series of Idol and one of My Restaurant Rules. And I know this one couple had been off for Big Brother and to The Resort as well.
Dicko: I put on about 6.3kg in the first 12 months of arriving here [Australia]. Sydney is one of the best places for lunch in the world because you've got this vast expanse of blue water and amazing views and you sit down and it's almost illegal not to order a bottle of wine and some oysters, isn't it?
Dicko: (during auditions for Australian Idol) If the Bee Gees heard you sing that, you would finish the other brothers off.
