The Harder They Fall
Jobless sportswriter Eddie Willis is hired by corrupt fight promoter Nick Benko to promote his current protege, an unknown Argentinian named Toro Moreno. Although Moreno is a hulking giant, he possesses a powder-puff punch and a glass jaw. Benko relies on Willis' reputation and standing in the boxing community and a series of fixed fights to get the unsophisticated Moreno to the championship fight. The reigning champ, the sadistic Buddy Brannen, harbors resentment at the publicity Toro has been getting, and vows to viciously punish him in the ring. Eddie must now decide whether or not to tell naive Toro the truth.

Linus and Davis Larrabee are the two sons of a very wealthy family. Linus is all work -- busily running the family corporate empire, he has no time for a wife and family. David is all play -- technically he is employed by the family business, but never shows up for work, spends all his time entertaining, and has been married and divorced three times. Meanwhile, Sabrina Fairchild is the young, shy, and awkward daughter of the household chauffeur, who has been infatuated with David all her life, but David hardly notices her -- "doesn't even know I exist" -- until she goes away to Paris for two years, and returns an elegant, sophisticated, beautiful woman. Suddenly, she finds that she has captured David's attention, but just as she does so, she finds herself falling in love with Linus, and she finds that Linus is also falling in love with her.

Beat the Devil
A quartet of international crooks -- Peterson, O'Hara, Ross and Ravello -- is stranded in Italy while their steamer is being repaired. With them are the Dannreuthers. The six are headed for Africa, presumably to sell vacuum cleaners but actually to buy land supposedly loaded with uranium. They are joined by others who apparently have similar designs.
