According to Variety (April 30, 2007), Hugh Laurie has accepted a key supporting role in his first major project since House. He joins Chris Evans, Keanu Reeves and Forest Whitaker in a drama that centers around a veteran LAPD cop who turns to alcohol after the death of his wife. Laurie will play an internal affairs officer. The title is Night Watch (fka The Night Watchman), which begins filming in May 2007.

In March 2007, Hugh Laurie autographed a 2005 CBR1000RR Repsol sports bike, a replica of the motorcycle he rides on House, to be auctioned online to raise money for the American Red Cross.
