Garett: I heard through the grapevine that virtually every fax machine and e-mail bank at UPN was inundated and almost stopped from fans begging for the last eight episodes, and for more. I think we were on the cliff, on the brink heading out, before we did those last eight. I actually think that the fans had a great deal to do with being able to finish those last eight.

Garett: For me it was great... They poured a lot of money into the show and they banked a lot of the success of the network within the show. They also had their flagship with Star Trek: Voyager, which remained after us. Then when the new regime came in, I think they wanted to put their own stamp on it and that was the ultimate deciding factor of why we left. They wanted to keep the UPN flagship, Voyager, but I think we did them well, they kept us on for 3 to 4 seasons.

Garett: Thank you so much for all of your support throughout the years. I really appreciate it and I am sure everyone else involved with the show does too. I think the fans themselves had a large part in it going for as long as it did. So, I would just say thank you so much for watching the show and please enjoy.

Garett: He (Richard Burgi) and I as individuals did not know each other prior to this. So, it actually went very well in terms of our personal relationship and the character relationship because it was growing simultaneously. I don't know if it would have the same dynamic if we worked together prior, earlier in our careers. Our personal relationship was wonderful and it still is, I am great friends with his family. I love his wife and his kids and the same with Bruce.

Garett: Before I went to network, I went out and bought a couple of anthropological books. It was a little difficult, it was a lot of reading - there wasn't just a general terminology. Myself personally, I'm dyslexic, and I was horrible in school, and there wasn't an Anthropology 101.

Garett's father is actor Brandon Maggart and his brother is Spencer Maggart, who recently directed their half-sister Fiona Apple's music video "Parting Gift". Garett also has another half-sister, Cabaret star Maude Maggart as well as two sisters not in show business.
