Frances: (on death) I don‘t think I have any fears left. Death, no! Except I resent that I‘ll be dead and won‘t be able to see certain things! [laughs].
Frances: (on unions) I believe in unions and the balance of power. Actors need protection.
Frances: (on her decision to remain childless) I often thing that the children I didn’t have are the luckiest ones… because I hate discipline!
When Frances was still driving, Days bought her a new car each year!
In 1983, Frances dislocated her shoulder during an on-set fall and, following a stroke a few years ago, she now uses a walking stick. She’s seen sitting in most of her scenes.
In 2003, Frances turned 90. The cast and crew of Days Of Our Lives gave her 90 roses and a diamond Tiffany watch.
Frances once served as Vice President of the American Federation for Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).
Frances played Rock Hudson’s wife in the 1966 film Seconds, and also appears in the commentary on the DVD version of the movie.
Frances made her film debut in 1937 in the feature Stage Door.
As of December 2006, Francis Reid (Alice) and John Clarke (Mickey) are the only two original cast members left on Days Of Our Lives since its debut in 1965.
Frances is a graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse.
