David Lee Roth had the idea that if you covered a successful song, you were half way home. C'mon - Van Halen doing 'Dancing in the Streets'? It was stupid. I started feeling like I would rather bomb playing my own songs than be successful playing someone else's music.

He named his son Wolfgang in honor of his favorite composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Eddie has signed a deal to record two songs for the erotic movie, Sacred Sin. The songs selected are named Rise and Catherine.

After being separated from his wife, Valerie Bertinelli, for four years, they finally filed for divorce in December 2005.

He made a guest appearance playing the guitar solo in Michael Jackson's 1980's hit song, "Beat It." Eddie did not appear in the music video, however.

He usually tunes his guitars a half-step lower than is customary (i.e., the lowest string is E-flat).
