Drake: (on the gym he helped build) It’s not a sweatshop like most gyms. There are physical therapists, nutritionists and medical doctors on staff.
Drake: (on his leading ladies) Each one was different. One was a spring shower in a forest, one was a walk along the beach and another was a full moon through a leafless tree.
Drake: (if Days suddenly ended) I would miss it immensely. I don't necessarily know that I would go back on the audition road. I don't even know if I'd keep acting. I'd say I would cash the chips in and go back to where I came from, [live by] some lake in Indiana. But you know what: The kids go back there and say, "I'm so glad we don't live here." That was one of the [retirement] dreams that I had -- sitting there with a beard, chewing tobacco, whittling on a chair, [and saying], "I remember when I used to work with Deidre Hall." My grandkids would be hovering around my feet and the fish would be jumping in the lake. Never going to happen. [laughs]
Drake: (on being part of a super-couple) I think it's possible to be part of a super-couple and keep them alive and interesting and stimulating. It most definitely is. It takes work on our part sometimes. You need airtime, good story... it all starts with good story.
Drake: (on the Marlena & John characters in Days) There are some good moments and some good writing. Here's a mature couple, who has been around the block and had their battles. There are a lot of unspoken feelings between them, even though there are going to be opposing energies at times. I find those scenes fun to play with you.
Drake: I'm the only person in my family who didn't have to get braces. I'm also the only one who didn't get a bicycle or baptized. The three B's.
