Dierks: We've expanded beyond country and bluegrass to rock, alt rock. My music goes down best with domestic light, cold beer.
Dierks: Writing it was kind of hard, ... I wrote a lot of it on the road, and I don't really enjoy writing on the road. There's so much going on, doing interviews and going to radio stations and getting ready for shows. You're sick all the time, and there's no space on the bus. I'd rather write at home in Nashville.
Dierks : The goal was to make an album that is a snapshot of my life at this particular moment and combine that with a sound we've been developing in the studio over the last three albums. We tried to inject some energy from the live show in there as well. It was my friends at country radio and my fans who did the rest of the work to get us to number one. ( on his new album )
