David made a guest appearance on the HBO hit series The Sopranos as a poker playing guest of Tony Soprano's.

David is a dedicated follower and practioner of the classic martial arts since age 12, he travels and teaches at seminars around the world between music gigs.

David describes himself as a unique blend of the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz, Bruce Lee, and The Rolling Stones.

Davis and Eddie Van Halen almost come to fist fight on the night of the MTV Awards show backstage. Davis found that he had been tricked into thinking that he was back in the band, in order to make a few songs with them, to market their new album. Eddie had secretly hired ex-Extreme front man Gary Cherone months earlier.

David became frustrated with the lack of album sales, and attempted to break into the Vegas show circuit in 1995.

David's band members started to drop out one by one, with each new album release. After 1988's Skyscraper and 1991's A Little Aint Enough, he was the lone original member left.

David issued his first full length solo effort Eat 'Em and Smile was a major hit accompanied by a sold-out tour.

David and Eddie started to publicly disagree about the direction Van Halen was taking. Tired of the drama, David left the band to embark on a solo career in late 1985.

David and the members of Mammoth decided to change their name to Van Halen, and they signed with Warner Bros. in 1977. They played the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California, looking for their big break.

David followed his love for rock music into a few rock bands, most notably the Red Ball Jets as the lead singer. They played shows throughout the Pasadena area.

David was born in the farm community of Indiana, and spent his childhood commuting back and forth from the great outdoors to the bright lights of the big city. He lived part of the year with his famous uncle Manny Roth in Greenwich Village, living over the nightclub that he ran, the 'Cafe Wha?'. David was exposed to the greats at this nightclub, such as Bob Dylan, Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
