Craig became the first player to collect five hits in the game in which he got his 3,000th hit.

On June 28, 2007, Craig became the 27th MLB player to collect 3,000 hits. This came on the same day that Frank Thomas hit his 500th home run marking the first time that both accomplishments came on the same day. He was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double on the play.
