Armadillo Verde is a fifteen years old virgin who lives in the flattest land in the world, in the middle of nowhere. She milks the cows, cooks for the workers and shoots morphine on her dying father. One morning the North wind arrives. Antonio, the main worker of the farm, finds an armadillo digging on a grave and knows that it is a bad sign. Verde just knows that it blows really hard and takes refuge on the chicken house, where she finds a mysterious wild boy. He does not talk, his hairy and has long nails. He seems harmless and Verde ends up trusting him. They get close to each other. The wind sneaks through a window awakens the instintcs of the boy: he jumps on her. She tries to escapes but the boy pulls the back of her poncho to make her stay and hurts the sides of her neck. Don Tulio notices the scratches and also, that there is no fresh milk as everyday. The only mention of the North wind makes him lock his daughter on the library. But no one can stop the forces of nature. Again Verde escapes and goes back to the chicken house, to tell the boy he is in danger. He does not listen, he just wants to play. Following an uncontrollable impulse, Verde kisses him. And they keep going until Antonio arrives looking for her. Behind the girl he sees an armadillo digging the ground, he tries to kick it but knocks the girl unconscious instead. Night falls. A creature advances in the night. Inside the house, the ritual has started. Men file its knives. Father wipes the forehead of the girl with a bloody handkerchief. She is tied up to a bed. "This is a hunt. You are the bait", says Father. That winter, Verde has bled for the first time and the North wind has brought, from the center of the earth, a beast to take her. It is all in a book of spells that Father is reading. An armadillo enters the room. He follows the odors of Verde. Father fights with it but he is too weak to handle the speed of its claws. Who is this being? Is he related to the boy in the chicken house? How this apocryphal legend will unravel? You will be surprised...

The Tailor of Panama John LeCarre's spy thriller is brought to the big screen. A British spy (Pierce Brosnan) is banished to Panama after having an affair with an ambassador's mistress. Once there he makes connection with a local tailor (Geoffrey Rush) with a nefarious past and connections to all of the top political and gangster figures in Panama. The tailor also has a wife (Jamie Lee Curtis), who works for the Panamanian president and a huge debt. The mission is to learn what the President intends to do with the Panama Canal. But what the two do is concoct a tremendous fictional tale about former mercenaries who are ready to topple the current government and are willing to work with Britain and the US to do so.

The Weight of Water A newspaper photographer, Jean, researches the lurid and sensational axe murder of two women in 1873 as an editorial tie-in with a brutal modern double murder. She discovers a cache of papers that appear to give an account of the murders by an eyewitness. The plot weaves between the narrative of the eyewitness and Jean's private struggle with jealousies and suspicions as her marriage teeters.

This Year's Love The marriage of Danny (Douglas Henshall) and Hannah (Catherine McCormack) spectacularly crashes during the reception when the bride's best friend tells the groom that the bride is having an affair with her husband! The shock wave of chaos that spreads out from this one event touches the lives of a diverse group of the thirtysomethings that inhabit the Camden Town area of London. Hannah immediately leaves the reception and gets drunk and ends up in bed with the unwashed artist Cameron (Dougray Scott) who is a friend of struggling singer Mary (Kathy Burke). Danny meanwhile moves on, opens his own tattoo parlour and eventually starts an affair with society dropout single-mother Sophie (Jennifer Ehle). This partner-swapping merry-go-round continues for two years until a semblance of normality asserts itself and Danny and Hannah decide to drop everything and embark on their long delayed honeymoon.
