Surreal character study focusing on the friendship between two male hustlers, Mike and Scott, in Portland, Oregon. They live on the streets, do drugs, and sell themselves to men and women. Mike (River Phoenix) is quiet, gay and suffers from narcolepsy. Abandoned as a child, he is obsessed with finding his long-lost mother. Scott (Keanu Reeves) is the rebellious son of a high-ranking family, who lives this life mostly to embarrass his father. Mike is in love with Scott, who still maintains he is straight and insists that his wild lifestyle on the streets is only temporary. Together, they embark on a quest to find Mike's mother, traveling from Portland to Idaho to Italy, with Scott picking up a beautiful girl along the way.

Frankie, on naval-reserve duty in Tahiti, doesn't trust Dee Dee to stay faithful, so he hires Bwana (Buster Keaton), a witch doctor, to help. Bwana conjures up a floating bikini, "stuffs" it with Cassandra (Beverly Adams), and sends her to distract advertising executive Ricky (Dwayne Hickman) from Dee Dee. Watch for Elizabeth "Samantha" Montgomery as Bwana's witch-daughter to pop up and twitch.

Beach Party
The first of the five official American-International "Beach Party" movies, all directed by William Asher and all very popular. Anthropology Professor Robert Orwell Sutwell (Bob Cummings) and his secretary Marianne (Dorothy Malone) are studying the sex habits of teenagers. The surfing teens led by Frankie and Dee Dee (Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello) don't have much sex but they sing, battle the motorcycle rats and mice led by Eric Von Zipper (Harvey Lembeck) and dance to Dick Dale and the Del Tones. Look for Vincent Price in a surprise cameo.
