(about Amanda) John Landovsky: She was a little rebel, a real tomboy. She even faked injuries until he caught on to her tactics. She was always cutting corners and really knew how to finagle things around.
(about the post "Centerstage" attention) Amanda: Some people tell me the movie got them interested in dance.
(about her daily massage) Amanda: We are pounding our bodies everyday, but the company really takes care of us.
(talking about ballet) Amanda: It’s tough. You wake up in the morning and have to get to work early to stretch and...take class and rehearse and then we perform, and sometimes I don't get home until 11:30 or 12 at night and then I have to ice, I have to sew my shoes, I have to take a hot bath. I have to do all of that, and then you wake up in what seems like way too few hours later and start all over again.
Amanda: I really love San Francisco, it’s a beautiful city, but every time I step off a plane here I exhale, I relax.
Amanda: People have gotten parts that I wanted to do ... I just try to be supportive. I hope they will do the same when I have opportunities.
Amanda: I'm happy dancing now, but it is really strenuous work. My body used to hurt and I would just tough it out.
(on being cast as Jody) Amanda: Last year was certainly a year of record for me. Not long after being offered a place in San Francisco Ballet, which had to be one of the most exciting moments in my life, I was offered a leading role in a movie. It was amazing. In my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd be starring in a movie.
