Trivia

In the video game Yakuza, Alan voices Masa.

In the second season finale of Lost, Alan played the father of Desmond's girlfriend. Later in the episode, Desmond enters in a race-around-the-world Alan's character was sponsoring. Coincidentally, Desmond's boat is registered in Newport Beach, California, where Caleb Nichol, another of Dale's characters, lived.

Alan still has his Australian accent, but uses an artificial American accent for some roles.

Alan was nominated January 2007 for an Golden Globe along with some of his cast mates from Ugly Betty in the Comedy TV series category.
