3 Doors Down Quotes & Trivia

Quotes

Brad Arnold (Speaking in 2006): We originally started The Better Life Foundation, it was named after our first record, and it was originally to benefit local children's charities, a lot of children's charities and a few of the homeless shelters, some of the battered women's shelters. The first year that was the intention, for the last two years the intention has been to put the Gulf Coast back together and just to raise money from around the country and even from around the world to bring back to the area and help people rebuild their lives.

Chris Henderson: To listen to a performance, your performance, something you've worked so hard for, to be absolutely perfect, is really a good feeling. Makes it worth it.

Chris Henderson (On their USO tour): We went over and played in Bahrain, and Spain, and Portugal, and on the U.S.S. George Washington, and it was something we really enjoyed, they treated us like kings, you know, we got to see a lot of shit that nobody will ever get to see. It was a lot of fun, and we definitely plan on doing something like that again.

Brad Arnold: I always used to sing to myself when we were playing. I was always singing around the house. Then one day I got a microphone, and nobody else would do it, but I did and I enjoyed it.

Chris Henderson (On music in their home town): It's non-existent. The only rock and roll bands there are cover bands or the casino bands that play in Biloxi. There are 7 or 8 that make a living playing the casino scene. For the most part, though, it's not good, especially if you want to play our own tunes.

Chris Henderson: I usually don't listen to our records after they're recorded because I've already heard them so much. But I actually started listening to the new one, but for whatever reason after 'The Better Life' was done - that was it. I have not heard it since. I was at an autograph signing and they played our new one in the background and I'm like "wow" it was 'The Road I'm On' and it's when that chorus kicks in my hair just flies off. I love that song.

Brad Arnold (On their album 'Seventeen Days'): When we found out it was number one, we were in Dallas, and we just went out to eat. We just had a nice little dinner at some restaurant outside our hotel. I had a steak. That's what I always eat when I go out. That's all I ever eat.

Brad Arnold: My tattoo is of Jesus hanging on the cross. It's made out of tribal lines. I didn't want it to look like a picture.
